# How to build a new map
## If you don't have a map of your car park or workspace, this guide will guide you step-by-step on how to create a new interactive map directly within Ronspot.

### **Step 1: Navigate to 'Zones and maps'**
- Log in to the [Ronspot admin panel](https://admin.ronspot.ie/).
- Navigate to `Spaces > Zones/Maps` in the left sidebar.

### **Step 2: Add a new zone**
#### **1. Click on ‘Add zone’**:
- Click the `Add Zone` button to start the process of setting up a new map.
#### **2. Complete the Zone Form**:
- `Zone name`: Enter a descriptive name for the new zone.
- `Zone type`: Select the appropriate zone type—either **Parking** or **Office**.
- `Map type`: Choose **‘Create a custom map’** to add a visual representation of your zone.
- `Time zone`: Select the correct timezone for this zone.
- Then click `Complete`

### **Step 3: Define spaces on the map**
#### **1. Drag and drop items from the Construction Kit**:
- On the left sidebar, find the `Construction Kit` section. This tool allows you to add individual spaces to the map.
- Drag the item from the Construction Kit and **drop it onto the desired location on the map** where you want to create a space.
#### **2. Complete space details**:
A popup will appear, prompting you to enter details about the space:
- `Space name`: Give a short name to the space .
- `Space type`
- **Office zone:** Select the type of space you wish to create (desk or meeting room).
- **Parking zone:** Specify the types of vehicles allowed to park in this space (size, fuel type, accessibility, vehicle sharing).
- `Booking options`: Set how far in advance the space can be booked.
- `Booking duration`: Choose whether the space can be booked for the full day or by the hour.
- Click`Save` to confirm the space details.
#### **3. Adjust the space position**:
After saving, you can rotate and move the item on the gird.
- **Move**: Click on the shape, hold down and drag
- **Rotate:** Mouse over the item and click on the arrow in the top left corner

### **Step 4: Repeat for additional spaces**
**Repeat the process**: Repeat the same process for each additional space you need to add to the map.
**Tip:** To quickly duplicate a space, right-click on the existing one and select `Copy`. Then, right-click on the desired cell on the map and choose `Paste`. This will create a space with the same rotation.
Once all spaces are defined and configured, review the map to ensure everything is correctly placed and labeled.
