How to Upload a New Map

This guide will walk you through the process of adding a new zone, uploading a map, and setting up individual spots.


Step 1: Navigate to 'Zones/Maps'


Step 2: Add a New Zone

  1. Click on ‘Add Zone’:

    • Click the Add Zone button to start the process of setting up a new map.

  2. Complete the Zone Form:

    • Zone Name: Enter a descriptive name for the new zone.
    • Zone Type: Select the appropriate zone type—either Parking or Office.
    • Map Upload: Choose ‘Upload a map’ to add a visual representation of your zone.
    • Timezone: Select the correct timezone for this zone.
    • Then click Complete

Step 3: Upload the Map File

Choose and Upload Your Map:

  • On the next screen, click Choose file to browse and select your map file. 
  • After selecting the file, click Upload. Once uploaded, the map will appear on your screen.

Notes:

  • Supported formats are JPG and PNG.
  • Ensure you use a high-quality map for better clarity and precise spot placement.

Step 4: Define Spots on the Map

1. Drag and Drop the Space Selector

  • On the left sidebar, find the Space selector section. This tool allows you to define individual spots on the map.
  • Drag the square from the Space Selector and drop it onto the desired location on the map where you want to create a spot.

2. Complete Spot Details

A popup will appear, prompting you to enter details about the spot:

  • Spot Name: Give a short name to the spot .
  • Spot Type:
    • Office Zone: Select the type of spot you wish to create (Desk or Meeting Room).
    • Parking Zone: Specify the types of vehicles allowed to park in this spot (Size, Fuel Type, Accessibility, Shareability).
  • Booking Options: Set how far in advance the spot can be booked.
  • Booking Duration: Choose whether the spot can be booked for the full day or by the hour.
  • Click Save to confirm the spot details.

3. Adjust the Spot Boundaries

After saving, you can resize and move the selection box to match the exact boundaries of the spot on the map.

  • Move: Click on the shape, hold down and drag
  • Resize: Mouse over the borders, your cursor will change (from a hand to a double arrow), click, hold down and drag

Step 5: Repeat for Additional Spots

Repeat the Process: Repeat the same process for each additional spot you need to create on the map.

Tips:

  • To quickly duplicate a spot, right-click on the existing one and select Copy. Then, right-click on the desired location on the map and choose Paste. This will create a spot with identical dimensions.
  • To rotate the shape, right-click on it, select Configuration, adjust the Rotation value (e.g., use 90 or 270 to display the text vertically), and click Save.

Once all spots are defined and configured, review the map to ensure everything is correctly placed and labeled.
